About Allan & Gill Gray Philanthropy

Allan & Gill Gray Philanthropy is a UK company established in 2018 to implement some of the philanthropic activities within the Allan & Gill Gray Foundation. Allan & Gill Gray Foundation was set up by Mr. Allan Gray, Mrs. Gill Gray and their family in 2015. Its dual purposes are to hold the family’s controlling interest in the Orbis and Allan Gray groups of asset management businesses; and to ultimately devote exclusively to philanthropy the economic benefit from its interest in those businesses.

Indspire funding is part of one of the programmes within Allan & Gill Gray Philanthropy, the ‘Philanthropy Initiative with Employees of Orbis’ (“Philanthropy Initiative”). Each year, Orbis employees worldwide are invited to help Allan & Gill Gray Philanthropy select a number of charities within their local communities as candidates to receive financial grants.  It is our intention that all Orbis employees can participate in addressing the needs and improving the lives of those who form part of their communities through responsible, thoughtful and purposeful grant-making. The Philanthropy Initiative operates with a Funding Theme, which currently is ‘Ensure inclusive and quality education for all and promote lifelong learning’.
