Arup’s Engineering Indigenous Student Scholarship

Arup acknowledges that our work spans many territories, treaty areas, and unceded lands across North America, known as Turtle Island to many Indigenous Peoples. We recognize that the Indigenous Peoples are stewards of this land, thank them for sharing their homelands with us, and understand the importance of drawing on their expertise as we seek to preserve biodiversity and pursue sustainable development in these lands. The partnerships we seek from within these communities are a demonstration of ways Arup is enabling opportunity, through career pathways and through the delivery of projects which reflect our value of social usefulness.

Arup’s Engineering Indigenous Student Scholarship will be offered to support and encourage Indigenous students throughout their post-secondary educational journey. This award will be distributed to Indigenous students attending post-secondary institutions across Canada (i.e., College, University, and Technical College) and who are enrolled in Engineering, Architecture, Urban Planning, Sustainability, and Engineering Technology programs. In addition to the scholarship, awarded recipients will be provided the opportunity to pursue a paid internship opportunity with Arup from 1 of our 3 offices across Canada in either Toronto, Montreal, or Calgary. To explore our internship and graduate opportunities, please visit https://jobs.arup.com/.

Arup is committed to equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI). We are guided by aims that include humane organization and social usefulness, and we have aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals. These commitments demand that we create and contribute to equitable spaces and systems, and that we foster an inclusive culture where everyone has a sense of belonging and feels comfortable showing up as themselves. As leaders across the built environment, it is our shared responsibility to bring about meaningful change for good through the projects we do and the people we choose to work with.
