CWB Welding Association Indigenous Education Bursary

Recognizing the significant demand for future welders across Canada, the CWB Welding Foundation has established this national bursary program with Indspire to financially support Indigenous students interested in post-secondary courses, apprenticeships or training relating to or leading to careers in the welding and joining industry in Canada.

Apprenticeship applications open year-round Students currently enrolled in post-secondary courses (apprenticeship, college or university level) related to or leading to careers in welding (e.g. practical welding, welding technology, welding inspecting, welding engineering).

About CWB Welding Foundation

The CWB Welding Foundation is a national registered charity that has two key mandates; to promote awareness of public safety, and to address welding skilled trades shortages in Canada. The Foundation promotes the Canadian welding and joining industry as a career choice and enhances Canadian welding education programs at all levels. The Foundation also helps to remove barriers to education and provides educational access to the sector for women, Indigenous peoples, persons with disabilities and members of visible minorities.

Since 1996, Indspire has provided over $190 million in financial support through more than 59,000 bursaries, scholarships and awards to First Nations, Inuit and Métis students. There is one application for all of Indspire’s bursaries, scholarships, and awards*. You only need to complete the application once to be considered for all applicable bursaries, scholarships, and awards.
