The North West Company/Ian Sutherland Bursary Program

As the largest private sector employer of Aboriginal people in Canada, The North West Company is proud to create a bursary program to offer students the wealth of potential that further education offers. This funding commitment was announced on the occasion of Ian Sutherland’s retirement as Chairman of the Board of Directors for The North West Company, a longtime supporter of Indspire. The bursaries are to be awarded to Aboriginal students enrolled in accredited college and university programs pursuing further education in business, retail or finance.

Preference will be given to students from communities listed in Schedule B agreement; however, if there are no eligible recipients in a given year from these communities, students living in Northwest Territories, Ontario, Quebec, Nunavut, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and British Columbia will be considered.
