Accerta Graduate Health Studies Scholarship
AccertaClaim Servicorp Inc. (Accerta) donated to OCAD University. Accerta’s donation will be used in the form of a scholarship: the Accerta Graduate Health Studies Scholarship. The purpose of this scholarship is to support Indigenous students in the Design for Health (MDes) graduate program. Peter Owsiany, President & CEO says “As a certified B Corp, Accerta’s purpose and mission is to enable healthcare equality for all Canadians. Our desired outcome is this grant will provide the ability for an Indigenous student to assist in improving the healthcare delivery services to the Indigenous people of Canada.”
The Design for Health program, the only health focused MDes in Canada, combines critical thinking, in-depth research skills and an active studio practice. As such, our students graduate as design professionals who have flexible and transferable skills to meet pressing and complex health design challenges, including: increases in chronic diseases; an aging population; health inequities; social and environmental determinants of health; growing cultural diversity; patient-centered health care planning and delivery; and the spread of digital health and wellness technologies.
