Toronto Metropolitan University has a longstanding commitment to supporting Indigenous students and Indigenous ways of learning. TMU’s Elder and Senior Advisor, Indigenous Relations and Reconciliation, sits at the leadership table and is part of TMU’s commitment to increasing Indigenous representation at the senior level. The Elder and Senior Advisor works to further embed Indigenous knowledge and perspectives into the university’s culture.

The cornerstone of the university’s commitment to the Indigenous community is Toronto Met Aboriginal Student Services (also known by its acronym RASS). Launched in 1994, RASS has steadily expanded to meet the needs of our growing Indigenous population, and adapt to the growth of Indigenous-related initiatives across the campus.
